I
am Pamela Cappetta. I grew up in rural central Pennsylvania where my life
focused around family, nature, and our small community. As a child, my health
was poor and on the recommendation of our family doctor, my parents moved
further into the country because it was believed that "fresh air"
could improve my medical conditions. Naturally, I became interested early
on exploring the dynamics around health, family, illness, and wellness. Today,
I am grateful for those experiences and find strength in natural settings.
The trauma of a difficult birth, and medical complications throughout my life have influenced me as an adult to become involved with family therapy, but my rural upbringing has directed me towards more natural, holistic approaches to family therapy, and my beliefs toward the family system.
I was also influenced by Stanislav Grof's theory of the parental in the field of Transpersonal Psychology (www.holotropic.com) so much so that I now am a certified practitioner of holotropic breathwork. As you can see my life and professional career has been dedicated to exploring the invisible links that tie the emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental health aspects in the individual to the healing process. I hope that you will find healing in your own life and that perhaps you will take the time to share your experiences with me as a member of one of my groups or by contacting me.
